Advent Week 4: Day 3 – LOVE

Lyrics for “Good, Good Father” can be found here.

Adonai. El Shaddai. Father. You have lavished Your love on us. That You have done so because You chose to and adopted us into Your family, is beyond our understanding. Our true identity is found in You and this truth is the antidote to insecurity and despair. We are Your children and You are the Good Father. Thank You.

Advent Week 3: Day 3 – JOY

This song, “Noel,” sung by Lauren Daigle, fills me with wonder and joy, and I wanted to share it. “Noel. Come and see what God has done.” “This is His doing and it is marvelous in our eyes” (Psalm 118:23).

Father, this Advent season, let us hear and read and experience this truth as if hearing and reading about and experiencing Your amazing love for the first time. Noel.

Reasons to Praise: Day 3 (and Five Minute Friday) – New

You may look in the mirror and see evidence of having lived

Or having aged

Laugh lines, wrinkles, crows feet

Or you may look into the mirror and see nothing but smooth, radiant skin

You may be 15

Or you may be 65

You may be male or female

Rich or poor

Having wide spread influence

Or a total unknown

But we all have the same opportunity

To each of us He offers the same promise

What is the promise?

To be a brand new creature

To start over with the slate wiped clean

This miracle is available to all

Think of it

No matter what you have done or even failed to do

You can begin again in Him

You can be made new

Yes. You.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Will you accept His offer?

And if you already have, live in a way that reflects this truth

Refusing to be tormented by the past

Pressing forward in His strength

Resting in His grace

You have been made new
