Five Minute Friday: Word

The WordJoining Kate Motaung and a community of courageous writers for Five Minute Friday (on a Saturday).

For this week’s Five Minute Friday, Kate allowed us to choose our own one word prompt. Mine is “Word,” because this time of the year, I am preoccupied with the Word.

The One who was in the beginning and the One by whom everything which exists was made.

The One who is the Light of the world.

The One who is the Bread of Life.

The One who, “became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”*

Oh, the wonder of this incomprehensible truth. The Word became flesh. The Word became flesh.

The Word became flesh and because He did, we now have an Advocate with the Father. One who, because He was tempted like we are but never sinned, ever lives to make intercession for us. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. He humbled Himself. He willingly came to redeem us. Because He loved us. And we are now His.

*John 1: 14
