Joining Kate Motaung and a community of writers for Five Minute Friday. The prompt is, “Send.”
I cannot seem to think of the word “send” without thinking of a message being delivered and of a messenger who was sent
Such as John the Baptist, Zacharias and Elizabeth’s son born to them in their old age
John 1 declares, “There was a man sent from God whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the light, so that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light but was sent to bear witness of that Light. This was the True Light Who gives light to everyman coming into the world.”
And I think of the Great Commission and acknowledge anew that we are all sent to bear witness of the Light.
He sends us first to our brothers as Andrew to Simon Peter and to our Jerusalems and to every part of the world. But I rarely obey the order and it is one.
Send also mean to emit, as in a scent or perfume. And again we, as we yield to Him, we emit the fragrance of His presence everywhere.
