Reasons to Praise: Day 12 – Rest

Defined as the cessation of work, exertion, or activity. Both external and internal.

The physical labor of accomplishing a task.

The inward labor of trying to come up with solutions. Of worrying. Of anxiety. Triggered by challenges. Uncertainty. Feelings of helplessness.

Rest. To be at peace. The inner turmoil stilled.

“Be at rest once more, O my soul,” the psalmist wrote, “For the LORD has been good to you.”

Breathe deep. Exhale slow. Look up. Trust. Rest.

He is in control. Always.
