Usually, when I think of “stuck,” nothing good comes to mind. What comes to mind are states such as being trapped, as in quick sand; not knowing what to do about a situation, as in stumped.
But there is another meaning to stuck that I am thinking of right now. A meaning that is best understood by looking at related words: bonded, cemented, glued; anchored, embedded, implanted; attached, fastened, secured;
These words give stuck a different meaning for me as I reflect on Jesus’ words in John 15:5. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”
My fruit bearing ability is tied to Him, the Vine. Apart from Him, He clearly states, I can do nothing.
Yes, I want to be stuck on Him. Bonded to Him. Cemented to Him. Glued to Him. Anchored in Him. Implanted in Him. Attached to Him. Fastened to Him.
He tells me nothing can separate me from His Love. And that is where I want to stay: in His love. In Him. Stuck on Jesus.
Prayer:Father, I praise You that nothing can separate me from Your love.
