Things in which I have too often indulged but cannot afford

Bitterness

Holding grudges

Refusing to forgive

Unrelenting anger

Self-pity

Disobedience

Selfishness

Self-centeredness

Focusing on my faults rather than Your power to change me

Focusing on the flaws or mistakes of others

Focusing on my weaknesses instead of Your strength

Making my changes contingent on the changes of others

Focusing on my circumstances instead of on You

Letting fear or the desire for human approval dictate my choices rather than letting You guide my steps

Help me instead to heed your invitation issued in Isaiah 55:1-3 (New Living Translation)

1 “Come, all you who are thirsty,
   come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
   come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
   without money and without cost.
2 Why spend money on what is not bread,
   and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to Me, and eat what is good,
   and you will delight in the richest of fare.
3 Give ear and come to Me;
   listen, that you may live.”
